Mission

The CLARE corpus aims to contribute to the study of the Latin language by compiling and labelling the largest number of Latin electronic files of all times. In this way, through the tokenization of the texts, the diachronic and synchronous study of the Latin language is facilitated with real samples of its use at any time and subject area.

CLARE is a constantly growing corpus (a monitor corpus), since there are still countless Latin texts that are not available in electronic format. For this reason, it should continue to grow with new files in the Latin language that the different electronic libraries are editing and sharing on the Web.

CLARE thus joins the list of tools available for teaching and researching the Latin language and its texts.
